Nayte noted that sometimes it takes listening to a song several times before realizing that it has become your new favorite.

‘My first one-on-one with Michelle, it wasn’t like I had to listen to the song eight or nine times for me to realize it’s my favorite song. It was like, I am literally witnessing myself falling in love. …Michelle, that first one-on-one, I was cognizant and aware every second that ticked by I was falling in love,’ Nayte said.

Kaitlyn asked if Nayte was still being vulnerable and sharing his emotions and Michelle answered for him, saying, ‘He is more vulnerable than me.’

‘Stop!,’ Kaitlyn interjected.

‘He is. You put somebody in a position where they are trying to be vulnerable, right, for the first time, fall in love for the first time, then you stick producers and cameras, it’s going to look a little off,’ Michelle said.

‘But behind the scenes, he really was challenging himself, and that’s the thing, love doesn’t always have to be this perfect, intense, magical story that goes from start to end with no speed bumps, like, you know? The conversations he had with my family, it showed that they were able to work through things, and that’s what I wanted,’ Michelle said.

Nayte during the season 18 finale met Michelle’s father Ephraim and mother LaVonne who were worried that he was too guarded for their daughter and not ready to propose.

Kaitlyn asked LaVonne who was in the live studio audience for her current feelings about Nayte.
