Fran Drescher, also know as the flashy girl of Flushing, beamed on the SAG Awards red carpet. Tonight, the actor who played Fran Fine in The Nanny and is now the president of the SAG-AFTRA stunned in a megawatt but elegant, body-hugging Reem Acra black gown with an embroidered bust and long slit sleeves that acted as a floor-skimming train. The ensemble was put together by her longtime stylist Brenda Cooper, who has been working with Drescher since her days on The Nanny. For another head-turning jolt, her hair was reminiscent of an Elizabeth Taylor-style bouffant tower.
Of course, this wouldn’t be a Drescher look if it wasn’t accompanied by her iconic humor. Amid the glam photos of Drescher, she posted a video on her Instagram in which she said, “they put me all together, and it took me only three hours. The A-team did a yeoman’s job!” The person filming, Drescher’s ex-husband Peter Marc Jacobson, who was also her date, had to pause the video when her dog started to gnaw on her dress. “Insanity!” he said, turning the camera to himself.
Drescher, of course, has always been known for her fabulous fashion sense. Her looks from The Nanny were as bright and beautiful as they come, and have remained a part of fashion history. As for this night’s red carpet look? We can for sure imagine Drescher as Miss Fine making a grand reveal down Mr. Sheffield’s spiral staircase in this number.
