We all know that wine pairs wonderfully with food, but why not try pairing a glass with your favorite novel? As an avid reader and wine drinker, I was delighted to see that Reese Witherspoon has partnered with SIMI Winery to release a new rosé that merges both. And if you ask me, the only thing that can make reading better is wine and vice versa.
The Editor’s Collection Rosé is blush pink and described by SIMI as having notes of strawberry, citrus, and white peach along with a kiss of watermelon. Featuring a blend of 91 percent pinot noir along with chardonnay and merlot, it sounds like the perfect wine for sipping in the spring sunshine while enjoying a good read.
The Sonoma County rosé is the latest in a collaboration between SIMI and Reese’s Book Club, with a Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon previously released in late 2021. The partnership feels like a natural one since SIMI was founded by a woman and Reese loves to highlight female authors and stories. Plus, everyone knows that if you have a book club, you simply must serve wine. And I can think of nothing better to take to your next book club meeting than a bottle of Editor’s Collection wine.
The new sip is available for $19 a bottle on the SIMI website as well as both online and in-store at Target. I for one feel blessed to be able to pick up some toilet paper, a new tank top, and a bottle of this lovely rosé in one trip. And, of course, a good book.
