The Nike Air Max 90 Terrascape has helped lead the charge in re-imagining performance-running designs from the 1990s through the lens of sustainability.
Recently, the modified take on Tinker Hatfield’s iconic silhouette appeared in shades of off-white accompanied by light brown and grey. Profile swooshes on the re-arranged upper indulge in a raised canvas, contrasting the diamond-patterned mesh panels visible at the toe box and underneath the collar opening. Pull tabs at the top of the tongue and spine inject a functional aspect to the Air Max model that wasn’t there upon its debut, while also leaning into the trail-ready aesthetic that’s become popular in footwear over the last two years. Underfoot, a semi-translucent midsole piece reveals speckled Crater Foam material, which up-cycles leftover foam throughout the Swoosh’s many manufacturing processes, and is accompanied by Nike Grind material across the outsole. Together, the sole unit’s elements advance the North American institution’s “Move to Zero” initiative forward without sacrificing performance or style.
Enjoy official images of the eco-conscious proposition ahead, and anticipate a Nike SNKRS launch soon.
