Kate Middleton bundles up in Alexander McQueen pea coat and orange turtleneck dress at Boston pier

Kate Middleton bundled up in a long brown Alexander McQueen pea coat as she dropped by Piers Park in Boston, Massachusetts with her husband, Prince William, on Thursday afternoon – as temperatures began to drop below 40 degrees Fahrenheit.

The Princess of Wales, 40, looked cozy in the designer jacket, which she paired with a similar-colored scarf and gloves, as well as high-heeled, brown boots. While the coat seems to be custom-made, a similar one by brand is being sold online for $5,960.

The mother-of-three kept the coat completely buttoned up amid the cold weather, but gave a slight glimpse of her outfit underneath – a bright orange $790 Gabriela Hearst turtleneck shirt and matching $1,590 skirt – as she exited her black SUV.

She and William, 40 – who opted for blue trousers and a button down shirt, as well as a blue coat and scarf – seemed in good spirits as they arrived at the park to discuss climate change and rising sea levels.

Kate was previously seen carrying the purse during a visit to Paris in 2017, and again during a church service in London in 2018, as well as a trip to the Natural History Museum in 2019.

The heels – which are just over two inches high – seem to be a go-to pair for the Princess, as she was pictured wearing them multiple times over the years.

Kate and William put on a brave face as they continued their whirlwind US tour – just a few hours after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle released a very ill-timed trailer for their upcoming explosive Netflix documentary amid a furious race row at Buckingham Palace back home.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex dropped a teaser for their new show – which is part of their $100 million deal with the streaming giant – in which they shared an incredibly intimate series of never-before-seen images, including several of Meghan crying, while hinting that they are preparing to launch a fresh series of attacks on the royal family.

Harry and Meghan’s trailer release would have been controversy enough for William and Kate to deal with on the second day of their tour – however, their first US trip in eight years had already been dramatically overshadowed by the news that the Prince’s godmother, Lady Susan Hussey, resigned from the royal household.

Just hours before the Prince and Princess touched down in Boston to launch William’s Earthshot Prize, his godmother, 83, who is a former lady-in-waiting to the Queen, was accused of making racist comments to black domestic abuse campaigner Ngozi Fulani at a Buckingham Palace event set up by Queen Consort Camilla on Tuesday night.

Their cheery expressions gave away little indication of the many controversies brewing within the Monarchy – which have dramatically overshadowed the couple’s three-day tour to Boston.

William and Kate also seemed completely at ease when they visited Greentown Labs earlier in the day, where they were greeted by hoards of fans – including a young boy who dressed up as one of the King’s Guards.
