Soon enough, South Korea’s Kasina will deliver one of the most anticipated sneaker collaborations of the year – a set of Air Max 1 inspired by an age old tradition. As we mentioned in our initial preview, there will be two different colorways of the Kasina Air Max 1, the second of which has been revealed by Gaeko of South Korean rap duet Dynamic Duo.
As the Mandarin wedding ducks are typically gifted in pairs, it makes perfect sense that Kasina brings two styles of the ’87 runner. This second version has a more masculine edge as it features a grey suede mudguard and a dark navy upper built with tumbled leather and animal hairs, while wooden-style treatment appears on the dubrae and uppermost eyelets. Like the orange pair, these Air Max 1s are highlighted by “카시나”, which is the Korean phonetic spelling of the shop name. The promo packaging for this gifted set is decorated with Eastern influences in mind and will likely not be available for retail.
Currently, a release date has not been disclosed, but Sneaker News has an exclusive look behind the design of both Kasina Air Max 1s coming soon.
