Drew Barrymore isn’t buying Christmas gifts for daughters but will celebrate holiday another way

Spread the love

Drew Barrymore will not be rushing around this holiday season looking for Christmas gifts for her daughters. That’s because she won’t be buying any.

That may make the actress, 47, sound a bit like a Grinch, but Drew says she gives her girls a different kind of present in the form of trips and experiences.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the Drew Barrymore Show host -who shares Olive, 10, and Frankie, eight, with her ex-husband Will Kopelman – explained her choice.

No presents: Drew Barrymore won’t be rushing around this holiday season looking for Christmas gifts for her daughters. That’s because she won’t be buying any

‘I don’t get them presents, which I think at their ages they don’t love, but I say, “I think we’ll remember the place and the photos and the experience and that’s what I want to give you,”’ she said.

‘They get plenty of things throughout the year, so I’m not like some weird, strict, cold mom who’s like, “You don’t get any gifts!”‘ she added.

‘I just feel like a better gift would be a life memory. I’d rather invest [in that than in] a doll house or something. It all evens out and it’s fine.’

The Charlie’s Angels star said she’s happy with her current plan, but realizes she might not be able to maintain it at the girls grow.

‘I like looking at the holidays through a comedic, realistic lens of, we’re gonna have a lot of different holiday stories,’ added the Poison Ivy star.

What one do you want to keep going and build as a tradition? Rather than, “This is my tradition and I’m stuck in it.”’

One gift that keeps on giving in the popularity of her talk show, which is currently the fastest-growing show on daytime TV, which she launched in 2020.

‘There were so many growing pains and learning curves. It was so humbling’, adding, ‘This is really good news and we’re very grateful.’

The Never Been Kissed actress, who has been single since her divorce in 2016, has started dating again, and any interested suitors had better be on their best behavior.

‘When somebody’s like, “He’s so hot.” I’m like, “Yeah, but does he behave well?” Cause that will make him 10 times hotter or not.”

‘There’s been a second and a third [date] with someone, which is a big deal,’ The Stand In actress said. ‘I feel like usually it’s one and done, because I see their behavior and I’m like, “This is a nonnegotiable. This is not a match.”’
