If you’re familiar with some sustainable footwear from adidas, it’s very likely that you’re aware of the brand’s FUTURECRAFT.FOOTPRINT collaboration with Allbirds. As the partners begin to finalize details regarding the performance-running sneaker’s release cadence, they’ve unofficially unveiled the shoes in a multi-color style sure to get broader audiences onboard with the eco-conscious movement.
Crafted with at least 50% recycled content, adidas‘ latest joint-effort pushed the boundaries of what’s possible on the sustainability front. An un-dyed process is still adhered to across the upper’s base, but non-virgin thread reinforcing the toe, mid-foot and heel introduce vibrant hits of red, orange, yellow and green into the mix. Co-branding is stamped onto the lateral mid-foot and sock-liner, with details of the astonishing 2.94 kg CO2 emissions given off during the sneaker’s production landing on the top of the tongue and lateral midsole. Down below, traction resembles some of the German sportswear behemoth’s most promising running sneakers, while further equipping the mix of Lightstrike and sugarcane-based SweetFoam® cushioning solution with the proper tooling to help athletes achieve the same performance benefits their used to from both Allbirds and adidas.
