The Body Shop Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream Review and Swatches

Hello girlies :)

Oh, I am still not so active but what to do!! Life is playing....so hectic. Lets make it some soothing ;)

Tea Tree, the word itself sounds so soothing and refreshing, specially to all oily skin beauties..right!! :)

Today I am going to review Tea Tree BB Cream by our much beloved The Body Shop. I always prefer to use BB creams instead of heavy foundations for a routine life. BB creams are best as they come with so many benefits and BB cream with tea tree sounds even more amazing, a cream which will even out your complexion and will reduce blemishes too. Its like a boon for pimple prone skin!!

Packaging:

The BB cream comes in a green squeezy tube with a flip cap that perfectly compliments the green color of tube and also the colour of BB cream. One more thing the color of caps differ according the shade of bb cream. The tube is really cute, nice color, small and absolutely travel friendly.

Consistency :

Tea Tree BB cream is quite runny. I usually spill it here and there when I am not that careful. Its easy to spread with fingers and you don't need a sponge to spread it. The texture is light and creamy. It does not give a matte finish, so all those who are blessed with oily skin, needs to top it up with a lose powder.

Coverage :

My expectations were really high with this BB cram, but it gives only sheer to medium coverage. For a good coverage, you must apply concealer first before applying it and then apply powder for a good coverage and perfect finish. Those who have a clear and dry skin may apply it without concealer and powder.

Shades Available:

The Body Shop has launched this BB cream in three shades - 01,02 and 03. I got color 02 for myself. Initially it did appear like it brightened my face but was ok as it oxidized within a few min. It does make me look quite darker and dull but shade 01 is way fairer than my skin tone.

My Take On Tea Tree BB Cream:

The best thing about this BB cream is that it comes with the goodness of tea tree, which is like a boon for sensitive and oily skin. I love tea tree fragrance so that's a plus point for me, but some might find it irritating, specially if you don't like tea tree fragrance.
It doesn't give much coverage and does oxidize, so I need to apply powder over it. It is easy to blend with fingers.

I have oily skin so it lasts for upto 3-4 hours, that too after applying face powder, otherwise staying power is more less. I found it more dewy while I prefer matte finish and dewy finish turns into oily after an hour. Though it didn't cause any breakout but I would have preferred it more matte, as its specially meant for oily skin. I don't find it much compatible for my oily skin in this humid weather. But yes staying power may differ in winters.

I wish it had SPF, then there was no use of applying sunscreen with it. Worst thing is when you have to apply sunscreen and bb cream, both.

Pros :

* Doesn't cause breakouts.
* Comes with goodness of Tea Tree Oil.
* Gives a dewy finish.
* Very lightweight yet hydrating and moisturizing.
* Sheer Coverage.
* Travel friendly packaging.
* Comes in 3 different shades.
* Good for normal to dry skin.

Cons:

* Despite there being three shades available, the selection is too tricky. As 01 is too pale and 02 is too dark for complexion like mine. It made me look little darker.
* Price is too high.
* No SPF.
*It bleeds in very humid weather.
* Might not be suitable for oily skin.
* Needs to be powdered for oily to combination skin, otherwise doesn't stay long.

Overall rating

4/5

I may not buy it again as it doesn't suit my oily and sensitive skin. But I would definitely recommend it to normal/dry skin beauties. For all those who are blessed with an oily skin, you might try it in winters or lesser humid days.
